For each object think of a silly picture with the
rhyming word for the number.
For example: If you are given a book
as the first one.
Think of a book burned by the sun.
When someone calls out number one think to yourself "sun" and you will recall
the book being burned by the sun.

Mnemonic Devices
To help some students who had learning difficulties I would have them make up
their own mnemonics for whatever they needed to study. For example I had them use CAM and PIP to remember: Cortez-Aztecs-Mexico
and Pizarro-Incas-Peru.
